George Comes
I started playing guitar at the age of 14. I was drawn to folk music and eventually to Rock n Roll. It was the 70's and I soaked up everything from America to Zeppelin". In his 30 years as a performer and studio musician, he has played guitar and recorded for such bands as the Billy Burke show (Elvis Presley impersonator), Tim Dennis Band, Extension, Sailor and the Swimmers, Idol Hands, the Calypso Dudes, The Twangdaddys and Idletrain.

"I very much enjoyed the process of creating this musical project for my beautiful and loving wife, Bernadete." Tom

I have been playing music since the age of 5. I have played with Brazilian stars such as Eliana Pitman, Sandra de Sa, Nando Cordel, Elba Ramalho and many others. I came to San Diego in 1989 and since then I have played with Brazil Tropical, Sambrazil, participated in four Street Scene, and San Diego Brazilian Day and Brazilian Productions "Brazil Carnaval" as a guitarist, bass player and sound-man.
"Recording this CD with the other Lightshiners was a lot of fun. Bernadete and Tom are long time good friends of mine and over the last couple of years I have gotten to know what a nice guy Gerry is. Good people playing fun spiritual music” George
In college I started messing around with classical guitar, and what luck when the first-ever guitar instructor joined the music dept at William&Mary, and I became the first-ever graduate in guitar from there. I once was the "orchestra" for a production of The Shadow Box - I composed and performed a set of variations on a renaissance lute tune as incidental music for the play. Meanwhile, because I could read music, I started getting gigs on bass in theater orchestras, in shows including Godspell, Joseph&the DreamCoat, and Fiddler on the Roof.

I saw A Hard Day's Night when I was too young to follow any of it, except the helicopter, and the music - the first that I really remember. My first guitar was a badminton . I started and gave up learning real guitar about three times before it stuck, for better or worse, when I was a sophomore in high school. I played just enough to get a date once in a while.
"It's was an incredibly fun role to be the bass player in this band, locking in with Tom's groove, listening to George work his guitar magic, and
especially to be playing Bernadete's music which has so much heart-felt love and truth to it. " Gerry
